Bharat, the son of Dushmanth and Shakuntala was the king of Ariyabat and following his name the land name was Bharath. Some time later king Hasti belonged to the family of Bharat and he established Hastinapur.
How To Established Kurukshetra :
King Kuru, the 4th generation of king Hasti did religious austerities in a forest . Following his name the forest name was 'Kurujungle'. And he started farm at there. So God Indra asked Kuru ' why is he farming at kurujungle '.
In the meditation condition king Kuru told Indra ' who are farming in here they all go to haven '. So Gods of haven were afraid and told king of gods Indra ' if all are starting farming in here then all achieve to go haven and no body go to hell '. Then Indra gave blessing of Kuru ' who do religious austerities in here and who are died in here they only achieve to go haven '. Kuru accepted the blessing. After Veda Vyasa also did religious austerities in the Kurujungle . After this field name was Kurukshetra.

Story Of Mahvish and Ganga :
Mahavish, the king of Ikkhaku family held many religious austerities and went haven directly. One day gods of haven organised a ceremony where also invited Mahavish and Ganga. In this ceremony suddenly god of air came and the cloth of Ganga was dropped by the air. In this situation everyone closed their eyes but only Mahavish watched Ganga in wrong intention. So God of creation Bhramah cursed Mahavish ' he should be born in earth again as human '.
Mahavish prayed Bhramah 'he wants to born in kuru king pratip family and marry with Ganga'. Bhramah accepted his proposal. And Mahavish born in the earth named Shantanu, son of the king Pratip.
Ganga And 7 Basu Gods :
Thinking about Mahavish Ganga returned in the earth she saw some gods were senseless. She went to the 7gods and asked what happened ? . They told sage boisistho cursed them ' they should be born in the earth as human '. 7 gods prayed to goddess Ganga ' they do not want to birth from human lady so please if Ganga gives birth them and they birth she must floats in the river then they reaches in the haven again '.
Ganga accepted their prayer but one condition they gave their part for birthing her 8th son. The 7th gods accepted the rule and told Ganga ' her 8th son will very powerful and scholastic.
Ganga And king Pradip :
One day king Pratul did religious austerities in the Ganga river plot. Goddess Ganga came there and told Pratip ' she wants to marry with his son Shantanu for babies '.
King Pratip gave word to Ganga . When Shantanu was king then Pratip order to fulfill his word gave to Ganga.
Shantanu married with Ganga :
One day king Shantanu walked in the river's plot . He saw a beautiful lady came to him. King Shantanu attracted with her beauty. Ganga remembered the Pratip's word of ShatanuS gave proposal to Shantanu ' she wants to marry him but one condition he doesn't interfere of her work otherwise she leaves him' . Shantanu accepted her proposal and they married and returned in the Hastinapur.

Ganga left Shantanu :
After marriage Ganga gave birth 7 sons but she floated all in the Ganga river but Shantanu didn't protest of his word. When Ganga gave birth 8th son then Shantanu didn't stop him he protest against Ganga.
So Ganga left Shantanu for breaking the word of Shantanu but she told Shantanu ' she doesn't float this son so when he reached teenage she give back him to his'

Debbobroto Came To Hastinapur :
When the son reached teenage the Ganga gave back him to Shantanu and told 'his name is Debbobroto and he is very strong and scholastic , his teacher is lord Parshuram'. Shantanu was very happy and get back him and returned to the Hastinapur.
