Mahabharat - Story Of Chitrangada And Vichitravirya

After marriage of Satyavati and Shantanu queen Satyavati gave birth two son named Chitrangada and Vichitravirya. When they reached at teenage age Shantanu died. Bhishma gave them knowledge of weapons and Veda like a father.

Story Of Chitrangada :

Chitrangada was the elder son of Shantanu and Satyavati . He was brother of Vichitravirya and step brother of Bhishma.

When Shantanu died Bhishma and Satyavati announced ' The king of the Hastinapur is now Chitrangada '. Chitrangada was very powerful and great warrior . He didn't afraid of humans, gods, demons, sages( Rishi ).

One day God of scent named Chitrangada came to kuru son Chitrangada and told ' their names are same so kuru son Chitrangada changes his name otherwise he fights with me '. Kuru son didn't not change his name as a result they fought each other and in this fight kuru son Chitrangada was died .

Story Of Vichitravirya :

Vichitravirya was youngest son of Shantanu and Satyavati. He was totally opposite of his elder brother Chitrangada. He was very weak and all times drunk alcohol and enjoyed with girls servant. After Chitrangada's death Bhishma announced ' the next king of Hastinapur is Vichitravirya'. After being king Vichitravirya went to Panchal with condition of alcoholic and destroyed their wealths . Then Vichitravirya was captured by the Panchal's king . But Bhishma lost Panchal and took back Vichitravirya and returned in the Hastinapur . After this incident Satyavati decided ' it is time to marriage of Vichitravirya ' so sent Bhishma in Kasi where king of Kasi organised a marriage ceremony for his daughters Amba , Ambika , Ambalika . Bhishma went there and lost all kings and won 3 brides for Vichitravirya. But including them elder sister told Bhishma ' she loves kalboraj and kalboraj loves also her so she doesn't marry with Vichitravirya ' . Listening the truth Bhishma freed Amba and took other 2 sisters and returned in Hastinapur. After reaching Hastinapur Vichitravirya married with Ambika and Ambalika. After marriage their relationship ware good but they had no son . Some time later Vichitravirya died for TB without sons.
