Mahabharat - Story Of Amba And Bhishma

Amba , Ambika and Ambalika were three daughters of Kasi's King. Amba loved with Kalboraj and Kalboraj also loved her. And Kasiraj organised a marriage ceremony for his daughters where Kalboraj was also invited.

Bhishma Went To Kasi :

For Vichitravirya's marriage Bhishma went to Kasi for won 3 daughters of Kasiraj. When he came in Kasi there were many kings who started gossips about Bhishma and told 'why does Bhishma come here ? What about his oath ? What does he forget his oath ?'. Listening this types of gossips Bhishma became angry and told ' He will win 3 daughters of Kasi for Vichitravirya's marriage ' . And Bhishma lost every king who were present in here including Kalboraj and won 3 brides and took them into his chariot.

Amba refused to marry with Vichitravirya :

When Bhishma returned to Hastinapur Amba ,the eldest daughter of Kasi told Bhishma ' I am not interested to marry with Vichitravirya . I loved with Kalboraj and he also loved me . In this ceremony I choose him to marry '. Knew about Amba's truth Bhishma freed Amba and returned Hastinapur with other two daughters of Kasi.

Kalboraj refused to marry with Amba :

After Amba was freed from Bhishma she went to Kalboraj and wanted to marry with him. But Kalboraj refused to marry with her because Bhishma won her and now noone marry with her.

For this incident Amba angry for Bhishma and decided to punish of Bhishma

Amba in Hastinapur :

After rejecting by Kalboraj Amba went to Hastinapur where her two sisters happily married with Vichitravirya . She called Bhishma loudly and told Bhishma ' He marry with me because he won me in the ceremony '.

Bhishma told Amba ' I can't marry with you . If you want you can marry with Vichitravirya '.
Amba didn't agree and went to lord Parshuram.

Fight Between Bhishma And Lord Parshuram :

Amba told her story to Parshuram so he called Bhishma. Bhishma didn't avoid his teacher's call. So he went to Parshuram. Then Parshuram told Bhishma that if he(Bhishma) was right then fought with him and won this battle. Then fight of Parshuram and Bhishma was began. This war continued long time but anyone could not lost. Then lord Shiva stopped their war.

The next life of Amba named Srikhandini :

After stopping fight Amba prayed to lord Shiva that Bhishma was dead by her. Lord Shiva told that in her next life she connected with great work then she we was the main cause of Bhishma's death.  Then Amba suicided by fire . And her next life she was born in Panchal as the daughter of Drupad named Srikhandini.

After in Kurukshetra war Srikhandini was the main reason for Bhishma's death.
